About Paul

A former banker and hockey player, Paul Thacker quit his job in 2007 to pursue a competitive snowmobile career. Before a 2010 injury left him a T5 paraplegic, Thacker competed in Speed & Style and Freestyle at X Games Aspen. Today, he's a SnoCross Adaptive competitor, works as an ambassador for Monster Energy and is a motorsports announcer, including on-site at X Games. He took silver behind Mike Schultz at Aspen 2016, his first X Games medal.

  • XG Aspen 2017 is his 10th appearance. Best finish, silver, SnoCross Adaptive in 2016.
  • T5 paraplegic from a snowmobile freestyle practice accident.
  • Former snowmobile distance jump record holder at 301.5 feet (2009).
  • Works with veterans and started "Hero Class" Terracross racing category for adaptive athletes and veterans with PTSD.
