About Jim

After losing most of his left leg in a freak motocross accident in 2000, Jim Wazny started racing snocross in 2003. Now working as a prosthetic technician, Wazny has taken three X Games Aspen medals -- silver at the inaugural SnoCross Adaptive race in 2010 and bronze in 2011 and 2015. He has also competed in summer events with Moto X Racing Adaptive. An early crash in 2016 left him just off the podium. Although Mike Schultz is his biggest rival, he trains with Schultz and uses the Moto Knee and Versa Foot prosthetics Schultz invented. He'd like to prove Schultz is beatable but he's also realistic, saying Schultz "seems unstoppable."
