About Josh

Elliott was back skiing just 8 months after he lost his legs (and three fingers) in an IED encounter in Afghanistan. The San Diego resident now spends 6 months a year away from home for ski training and racing and it's working; the retired USMC sergeant has had great success in the IPC and NorAm circuits and won the slalom event in sitting at the Winter Park World Cup in Canada on December 19, 2015. He was 7th at his first X Games (2015) after a Semifinal crash eliminated him.

  • XG Aspen 2016 is second XG appearance. 7th in 2015 Mono Skier X.
  • August 2015: 3 silver medals in IPCAS Southern Hemisphere Cup in New Zealand.
  • Lost both legs above the knees in 2011 when he stepped on an IED in Afghanistan.
  • Retired USMC sergeant
