Circuit of the Americas
Circuit of the Americas features a 251-foot-tall observation tower. The platform provides a 360-degree panorama of the circuit, as well as views to downtown Austin, Texas. The observation platform, which is accessible to the public for an admission fee, can accommodate up to 70 visitors and features glass railings and a partial glass floor. Those with a fear of heights might want to think twice about climbing up top.

Bucky Lasek, Downtown Austin
On the first night of X Games Austin, Bucky Lasek showed up to the vert ramp to defend his four-time Skateboard Vert title from 2013. Although he was injured, he entered the competition anyway with a homemade T-shirt that read "I'm hurt." Because the vert ramp venue was seated in front of the Texas State Capitol building, viewing was limited to one side of the ramp, leaving some spectators to watch the events unfold on projectors situated around the venue. Here, ESPN's Alyssa Roenigk interviews Lasek about his T-shirt selection. High def, this is not.

Lego motorcycle
Some thing are better left to the imagination. Here sits a scaled-to-size motorcycle constructed out of Legos on display at X Games Austin. Imagine getting paid to build Lego constructions. Yup, that happened at X Games.

Selfie nation?
BMX Dirt made a triumphant return to X Games in Austin, and some spectators went out of their way to document the chaos unfolding on the dirt jumps. Here, an unidentified X Games attendee puts on her best "I am concerned about the sun getting in my eyes but wouldn't mind some color on my stomach" pose.

The heat!
Austin in early June is hot, humid and primed for napping. Throughout the weekend, this array of sofas in the production office served as a makeshift retreat from the outdoor humidity. Here, an unidentified X Games attendee catches on up on Instagram happenings while resting up in the air conditioning.

The heat times two!
One would think that the sunglasses on this napping X Games attendee might provide adequate blockage from the sun instead of the leather cloth being used here. Like a David Lee Roth solo EP from 1985, this may have been spurred on from being "crazy from the heat."

TP in the house
X Games legend and RallyCross invite Travis Pastrana showed up with his family in tow on Thursday night of X Games Austin to cheer on his friends riding BMX and skateboards on the vert ramp. He's never been just an X Games athlete: He's also a true fan.

Sleep stages
A wise man once said, "X Games is all about progression ... and falling asleep while sitting in the shade next to a golf cart."

Bee rescue
What other major action sports event in the world cares about the welfare of the local bee population? Only at X Games ...

Sleepy time
Barefoot and asleep inside the production offices at X Games Austin. Yes, this happened at X.

Getting around
Circuit of the Americas, the new venue for X Games Austin, is enormous. And having a map to figure out where to go and what to do was completely necessary. For that reason, this caption contains no humor or sarcasm.

And the award for "Best Sleeper" at X Games Austin goes to this dedicated soul, who fell asleep on top of a tractor next to the Stadium SUPER Trucks course during the finals Sunday. The newest discipline at X Games, Stadium SUPER Trucks is an extremely loud event and not the most ideal location to catch up on some shut-eye.
