Chris Ward, Pipeline, Hawaii
"I woke up to a crack-of-dawn text on Valentines Day from my photographer friend Ryan Moss telling me that Pipe and Backdoor looked fun. I hopped on my bike and raced to the beach to surf until the waves got too big for me, then ran home grabbed my camera, housing and flippers and spent the next seven hours getting scorched by the sun. I didn't get out of the water until I ran out of space on my 64 GB card. There's nothing like sharing the love on V Day, capturing every surfer on the North Shore getting barreled at Pipeline -- Chris Ward, captured here, included." -- Ashley Barker

Sparrow, Portland, Oregon
"This is Sparrow, a Burnside local I am always stoked to see skating. He's got super good style and flows the park really well, which isn't easy down there. We didn't plan to shoot this at all, but all the elements lined up really well to make it happen. The window for good light like this on the bowl is pretty small, so when I noticed Sparrow start to try a couple frontside inverts I knew it was perfect timing to make a rad image. I grabbed my Xpan and some Ilford 3200 film, and after just a couple minutes he was rolling away and we had this shot." -- Tal Roberts

Danny Peirce, Denver, Colorado
"Breckenridge's Danny Peirce kicks off the day with a sunrise session at the Barnum dirt jump park in Denver. He is one of the most motivated and passionate riders in the Rocky Mountains." -- Theodore Van Orman

Markus Blessing, South Africa
"Not only does South Africa's Capetown have perfect waves for surfers, it also has some great concrete waves for skateboarders as well. Here you can see Germany's Markus Blessing catching one with a frontside noseslide." -- Daniel Wagner

Sammy Carlson, Revelstoke, B.C.
"This image was created with my good friend Sammy Carlson this winter. It was early morning and the light was surreal as it poured over the ridge, backlighting the scene. Snow was falling off the trees and created the ethereal crystals seen in this image. Sammy is an incredible skier and sent this feature with perfect speed first try, stomping a massive natural 3. Moments like these are so unique that if I didn't have the photos to prove they existed even I would be hesitant to believe they were real." -- Elliott Bernhagen

Tom Parsons, Glamis Dunes, California
This photo almost didn't happen. Tom Parsons and I waited for hours for the sun to set on the dune here. Just as the light hit its sweet spot, the dune was overtaken by a fashion photo shoot. We couldn't believe it. Tom asked them nicely to move, which they did, leaving us enough light to capture this sequence shot." -- Chris Tedesco

Lucien Clarke, San Francisco, California
"Lucien Clarke is a buttery smooth brother hailing from London who has been putting it down across the globe. Here he is sailing a switch backside 180 over a rarely-skated San Francisco handrail, in classic form." -- Dan Zaslavsky

Kai Lenny, Peahi, Hawaii
"When word came down that there was an epic swell hurtling towards Jaws the first order of business was to secure a helicopter with a great pilot. I wanted to show a different angle than we usually see at Jaws. In the air, everything came into alignment. Surfer Kai Lenny is an amazing athlete who can read the waves so well. He has a sixth sense of went to drop in and when to kick out -- which he happens to be doing here on a monstrous 50-plus-foot wave during the best swell at Jaws in the last century." -- Lucas Gilman

Forest Bailey, Japan
"We spotted this rail from the side of the road in Japan, on the way to another spot that we had picked to film for the day, and it turned out to be awesome to snowboard on and shoot. I have no idea why this super tall, oversized, perfect rail was put there, but we sure were appreciative of it." -- Mike Yoshida

Colt Fake, Orlando, Florida
"Raindrops were already starting to fall on Trey Jones' backyard plywood paradise in Orlando, Florida, when Colt Fake was contemplating this roof drop corner pocket into a steep quarter. But a little precipitation didn't stop him from sending it, just before the evening thunderstorm's clouds fully opened up." -- Rob Dolecki
