Garrett Warnick, Tahoe, California
Fall is here, Winter is coming, and we're back with a selection of top shots from across the action sports universe. "Garrett 'Worm' Warnick is your favorite snowboarder's favorite snowboarder. California's Sierras, or as John Muir calls them, "The Range of Light," have had some dry winters in the past decade, but last season was one of the deepest in history, with some areas reporting more than 60 feet of snowfall. Naturally, we ended up there because all snowboarders dream of deep winters like that, and photographers dream of light like this. Here, Worm celebrates both with the most timeless trick in our sport, the most picture-perfect method I have ever seen." -- Sean Kerrick Sullivan

Tikanui Smith, Tahiti
"Tikanui Smith taking full advantage of his local knowledge at Teahupo'o, Tahiti. This is the kind of dreamy day at Teahupo'o when it breaks on the inside ledge. With a long period, southwest swell about 4-5 feet, the waves break on the inside reef and create an insanely round speedy barrel. It's unique, heavy and pretty. Not sure the guy in the white water have the same opinion." -- Ben Thouard

Trevor Ward, Portland, Oregon
"The roll away at this spot is a bit unique. After that skinny sidewalk landing, there is a super steep dirt hill that comes up pretty quick. That didn't stop Trevor Ward from going full speed into this front board, and then flying down the embankment after landing. Actually, he said that was the most fun part of the whole trick." -- Tal Roberts

Craig McGee and Jeff Bellis, Canada
"The biggest challenge I face every day as a photographer is deciding between shooting and skiing. This shot was a prime example of that. After an amazing day of heli skiing, we were planning on a free run at the end of the day. However, when I saw how amazing the light was during our flight into this run, the photographer in me won out over the skier in me. I ended up staying in the helicopter and sending the rest of the crew on a free run while I shot from the skids. It's a good thing shooting doors off is almost as fun as skiing." -- Grant Gunderson

Dylan Alito, Denver
"I'd shot Dylan near this feature the previous year and always had an idea for a handplant on this particular section of it, but his travel schedule made it so we had to wait another year for a try at it. Originally, I'd shot it from another angle with a long lens and got a good shot, but as soon as the sky started to glow, I knew I had to go wide to pull in the sunset that was shaping up to be an epic one. Sunsets don't last long and once the sky was in full blaze mode, I was worried that we might not get it before it started to fade. But when he tossed this handplant up there, I knew we'd nailed it." -- Dave Lehl

Erick Winkowski, San Diego
"Erick Winkowski barges an unfinished concrete skatepark in San Diego on a Sunday morning. With little room for error, he stalls out a smith vert with a clean getaway." -- Rhino

Cody Townsend, Canada
"What an incredible day in the mountains. An hour before we were supposed to take off, the heli guide canceled, which meant our shoot was off. We decided to get our snowmobiles and head up anyway. Cody Townsend, Elyse Saugstad, Mark Abma, Erik Hjorleifson, cinematographer Mike Curran and myself headed out to Pemberton backcountry. I remember coming around the corner and seeing this zone for the first time -- it was like Mother Nature created it specifically for us to play!. Everyone picked their lines and the party started. After Cody finished his line, I knew we had something special. I am a believer that everything happens for a reason. Having our shoot canceled and ending up where we did is a perfect example of it." -- Jussi Grznar

Clint Reynolds and Mike 'Hucker' Clark, Philadelphia
"This past spring, Mike 'Hucker' Clark and Clint Reynolds were staying in New York City, and took a day trip to Philadelphia to sample some of the concrete offerings. The legendary FDR skatepark was at the top of the list, especially since Hucker is such a shredder on the skateboard too. The peanut bowl is a tight ride for one person, let alone attempting a precisely timed over/under maneuver with two. Clint Reynolds and Hucker weren't scared to give it multiple attempts, and ripped a successful one with room to spare." -- Rob Dolecki

Will Patton, Mavericks, California
"There's an added element of difficulty surfing Mavericks in the evening. Most days wind down by late morning or early afternoon, but the rarest of rare days will allow the exception and perhaps a chance to surf into sunset. Drained from battling the currents, the cold and hunger, surfing the evening hours can bring out some true big wave addicts, guys who either can't get enough, are finally 'up' in the rotation or are watching the wave intently, knowing that every session there is something to be learned out there. This was a special day last season, only the fourth or fifth time I've shot from the water during the last few hours of daylight." -- Ryan "Chachi" Craig

Ricky Willis, Decorah, Iowa
"Ricky spotted this dilapidated silo sitting in a field as we were driving through Iowa on our way home from a fly-fishing trip. With both of us growing up as skateboarders, we instantly pulled over the car to see if it was able to be skated. After a little work, he was carving through it. I knew we needed to shoot a photo of this and I'm stoked on how it turned out." -- Grant Moxley
