Kygo returns to X Games

In 2016, Norwegian DJ Kygo was introduced to the X Games Aspen audience. Now, three years later, the international music sensation returns. Here, Kygo details his rise to stardom and X Games memories.

Since Kygo's last performance [in 2016] at X Games Aspen, the Norwegian-bred DJ has reached next-level stardom. Following the arrival of 2017's Kids In Love, which became his second #1 debut on the Billboard Top Electronic Dance Albums chart, he unleashed "Remind Me To Forget" [feat. Miguel] on the re-release of the record. Not only did it clock over 202.1 million Spotify streams, but it also soared to #16 at Dance Radio and #18 at Top 40. Simultaneously, he launched the marathon "Kids In Love" world tour. The trek traversed four continents, sold out dates everywhere, and remained a two-weekend Coachella highlight.

Returning to the studio, "Born To Be Yours" [feat. Imagine Dragons] kicked off the next chapter. Two months from its June 2018 release, it generated 136.7 million Spotify streams and 28 million YouTube/VEVO views. Taking over radio airwaves, it rapidly climbed at multiple formats AC, Hot AC, and Top 40. With stadium-size ambition, organic instrumentation, and powerhouse hook, "Born To Be Yours" illuminated his penchant for progression.

"Born To Be Yours" continues a tradition of smashes for Kygo. To date, he has achieved over 7 billion streams and 40 million track equivalent sales. He holds the distinction of being "the fastest artist to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify."

The success can be credited to his ability to transcend the dance floor and connect as any genre-defying timeless superstar would. And with another X Games appearance, that success shows no signs of stopping.
