Laia Sanz torched the field in her X Games debut in Brazil last year. She then went on to win her second and third gold medals at X Games Barcelona and Los Angeles. Sanz will not be competing at X Games Austin, where she would be the favorite.

Spanish trials rider Laia Sanz, who burst onto the X Games scene last year by winning three of four Women's Moto X Enduro events, has withdrawn from this year's competition.

Citing a scheduling conflict with an enduro race she's contracted to ride in Europe, the 28-year-old, 13-time FIM Women's Trial world champion will not race in the Women's Moto X Enduro event on Friday, June 6 at X Games Austin.

Last year, Sanz -- already with 10 European women's trial championships to her name -- made her X Games debut in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, nearly lapping the field on her way to the gold medal. She repeated the performance in front of her hometown crowd at X Games Barcelona (then traveled to Portugal the next day to win the European endurocross championship).

At the X Games next stop in Munich, Germany last June, Sanz was relegated to the silver-medal position as longtime Women's Moto X Enduro X favorite Maria Forsberg raced to the top spot.

"Laia is my hero and the toughest competitor I've ever come across," Forsberg said after beating Sanz in Munich.

Sanz returned the favor at X Games Los Angeles, winning the third gold medal of her near-perfect 2013 Global X Games season.

X Games Austin runs June 5-8 at the Circuit of the Americas just outside of Austin, Texas.
