Macklemore headlines Munich

The fifth stop of the X Games global-expansion tour is Munich, Germany, and once again the lineup of musicians is on par with the world-class athletes who'll compete there. Seattle hip-hop revelations Macklemore and Ryan Lewis headline the list of performers and kick things off on June 26 atop the Red Bull Tour Bus in Munich's Olympic Stadium, the centerpiece venue for the 1972 Olympics. The rest of the X Games MUSIC acts are German bands that will play throughout the remainder of the week on the X Fest Stage in the Olympic Park venue. All shows will also stream live on

June 26: Macklemore and Ryan Lewis with Die Orsons, 1-3:30 p.m. ET
The duo's new album, "The Heist," spent time atop the iTunes bestseller list and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard charts last October. The independently released album showcases Macklemore and Lewis's innovative musical style and passion for their craft. The two are also known for electrifying live shows and leveraging social media and video to spread their vibe. Their hit song "Thrift Shop" has racked up more than 300 million views on YouTube.

June 27: Manual Kant, 9:30-11 a.m. ET
Manual Kant's website says the group are connoisseurs of the legendary "Tony Hawk Pro Skater" video game, making them a perfect fit for the X Fest Stage. The Munich-based foursome of Malta Borgmann, Simon Gürster, Christian Ludwig Auer and Louis Staudinger hail from Lower Bavaria and blend a unique mix of punk-rock, funk-rock and indie-pop sounds with a notable touch of hip-hop influence.

June 28: Demograffics, 10:30 a.m.- 12 p.m. ET
Rappers Demograffics bring their German brand of hip-hop to the X Fest Stage mid-event. The two-man band of rapper/producer Maniac and DJ Rufflow have a heavy American hip-hop influence thanks in part to the 10 years Maniac spent in the U.S. as a child. Demograffics' latest album, "Cheese," celebrates the sounds of jazz, piano loops and frequent sampling to go along with its autobiographical lyrics.

June 29: Claire, 8:30-9:30 a.m. ET
Munich's own Josie-Claire Bürkle is the singer-songwriter and frontwoman for German band Claire. Their debut album, "The Empire," released in October 2012, showcases Bürkle's powerful vocals and the band's trademark synthesized sound and drum play. Claire's danceable back beats and forays into the rap/indie-pop/hip-hop space should keep X Games fans and music lovers dancing right through the final night of X Games Munich.
