Rose Battersby fractures spine in crash
Rose Battersby has been taken to the hospital after a crash while practicing on the Slopestyle Course.
ASPEN, Colo. -- The Jeep Ski Slopestyle Women's final Sunday was delayed during the warmup session and again during the second-to-last run of the afternoon after two skiers crashed and received medical attention at X Games Aspen 2013.
Rose Battersby and Ashley Battersby, no relation, were both transported off the course and taken to a hospital.
Rose Battersby suffered a lumbar spine fracture, according to X Games Medical, and is being transferred to Denver.
Rose Battersby was moving and could feel all extremities, X Games Medical said.
Ashley Battersby, who was bumped off the podium by Kaya Turski's final run, injured her left leg, according to X Games Medical.
She crashed on a switch 900 on the final jump of her third run.
