Kimmy Fasani's Amusement Park
Stefi Luxton
"I originally started this event because I wanted to learn tricks," explains Kimmy Fasani of the event that has grown to be one of the biggest spring gathering of pro women in snowboarding. "I asked Mammoth if they would build a jump for me and my friends and they said yes." Simple as that. And that is the origin of Kimmy Fasani's Amusement Park, which took place last week at Mammoth, California. Pictured here, Kiwi Stefi Luxton gets sideways over the gap.

Bridging the gender gap
This is the line up to hit the 55-foot channel gap, which was built on the back side of Mammoth Mountain. Though it may look intimidating, "It was a pretty standard sized jump for all of us and had a pretty poppy take-off," says Fasani. "It did have a very easy transition to land on so there was hardly any consequence if you fell. We wanted something safer so we could try new tricks."

"We were all trying new tricks," says Amusement Park mastermind, Fasani, "but instead of hucking them out I saw so much style -- from all the girls."

Relaxation was the name of the game this time around. "A lot of the girls went on hikes or chilled in the local hot springs before our evening shoots got under way," says Fasani. "It was a hectic contest season with the Olympics and everything so we just wanted to end our season the right way."

Jessika Jensen
You might not know Jessika Jensen yet, even though she made the U.S. Olympic Slopestyle team, but Fasani says you will soon: "Watch out for this girl, she has some pop! For a 22-year-old to come out and take charge like she did was rad."

Kjersti Buaas
"Kjersti Buaas is just so creative on a snowboard," says Fasani. "Her rhythm and flow on the jump was awesome and an inspiration for us all as far as style goes." This backside 180 Japan provides confirmation.

Spencer O'Brien
"Spencer is just so solid," says Fasani. "This session she learned switch backside 7s!"

Anna Gasser
Anna Gasser show up and blew everyone away with her lofty frontside 7s and Cab nines. For a girl who has only been riding for four years, she's obviously made progression her punching bag.

Kelly Clark
For someone who doesn't ride kickers all that often, busting out a method of this caliber is ultra impressive and must be based on pure instinct.

Possum Torr
Though the young Kiwi is more accustomed to sheep, that doesn't mean Torr is afraid to throw down with some roast beef.
