Original vision
Originally envisioned as a way to evolve halfpipe riding, Davis' original event was called "Peace Pipe," featuring a halfpipe with channels and rails, that was built in California. The event has since evolved into a mega collection of transition features of all shapes and sizes, now dubbed "Peace Park," that takes place on the backside of Grand Targhee resort in Wyoming.

Double pipe goodness
One of the first iterations of the event at Targhee featured a halfpipe with hip jump entries and mid-run channels leading into a skate park-inspired snow bowl. This year's featured the same, with an optional double pipe on the side and a mini snake run on the bottom thrown in for good measure.

Mitrani drops mic
A fun event just wouldn't be as, well, fun without the humor and talent of snowboarding's most beloved emcee, Jack Mitrani

Ninja skills
One of the best things about Peace Park is the opportunity it gives competition riders to break their traditional routines and show off their original style flare in new, creative ways. Here 2015 Burton U.S. Open pipe champion, Taku Hiraoka, takes a moment to shine on a differently-styled transition feature.

Though Peace Park isn't a contest in the traditional sense of the word, riders are recognized for standing out and putting on a good show. This year the undisputed overall champion of style and awe award went to Ben Ferguson. X Games fans may come to know Ferguson as one of the new halfpipe wonders, but fans of snowboarding in general will undoubtedly come to know him as one of the best in the world, period.
