'Unchained' premiere in Austin, Texas
The premiere of "Unchained"
On Wednesday, May 4, X Games teamed up with Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar in Austin, Texas to premiere the new movie "Unchained: The Untold Story of Freestyle Motocross" to a packed crowd. Produced by Taublieb Films in association with Crusty Demons, "Unchained" tells the story of the beginnings of freestyle motocross, tracking the growth of the sport in its early roots, into the X Games and through to the present. Narrated by Josh Brolin, who was on hand for the premiere, the film's premiere brought out the big guns in OG FMX, including Brian Deegan, Mike Metzler, Seth Enslow and more. Here, XGames.com recaps the night that was "Unchained."
Outside of Alamo Drafthouse
Upon arrival at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, fans and moviegoers were treated to an extra addition outside of the theater: The X Games Austin logo. Following the premiere, eager moviegoers were treated to catered food from Torchy's Tacos inside The High Ball.
Inside Alamo Drafthouse
Inside The Alamo Drafthouse, a red carpet was rolled out for the producers and FMX legends featured within the film.
As an added bonus, fans of "Unchained" were offered X Games swag, including posters, stickers, hats and skateboard decks.
Monster Energy in the house
Also on hand were the Monster Energy girls, who kept everyone on hand hydrated with free Monster Energy drinks.
Meet and greet
From about 5 p.m. through 7 p.m., the lobby of the Alamo Drafthouse was transformed into a meet and greet for attendees of the premiere of "Unchained."

Seth Enslow was among the first in the new breed of rebellious, free-spirited motorcycle riders to challenge the established factory motocross teams of the 1990s. His approach to free riding was documented in the early "Crusty Demons" videos, and transformed him into an FMX legend almost overnight.
Ride or die
Brian Deegan's meteoric rise through the ranks in freestyle motocross is a major part of the theme behind "Unchained," including his many injuries and triumphs at X Games.
Twitch in the house
Jeremy "Twitch" Stenberg, who still competes at X Games as a veteran Moto X Best Whip competitor, offers insight and commentary throughout "Unchained."
Mike Metzger, AKA the godfather of freestyle, is featured extensively in "Unchained." Now a tattoo artist and mountain biker, Metzger hasn't slowed down one bit since becoming the first rider to pull a dirt bike backflip in X Games competition.

Crusty Demon creator
Jon Freeman (pictured here) together with Dana Nicholson, began filming free riding in the deserts of California. "It wasn't about getting the checkered flag, it was about one upping your buddy out in the dunes, just showing how fun that is," says Freeman in the film. Eventually, their filming led to the release of "Crusty Demons of Dirt" in 1995.

And then there were tacos
Following the premiere, Torchy's Tacos catered a full meal for attendees of the film. It wouldn't be a movie premiere in Austin without tacos, would it?
