This past weekend, X Games Austin 2014 BMX Park gold medalist Chase Hawk held his second annual Born And Raised amateur BMX competition in Austin, Texas, and despite the heat, the action that went down was insane. Here, veteran Austin-based BMXer Tony Cardona pulls off the move of the weekend, a huge gap from an Empire BMX kicker ramp halfway across the House Park in downtown Austin.

Born And Raised kicked off on Saturday with the beginner division. In an age when there aren't too many BMX contests happening, it was great to see the beginners get some shine time.

Austin local Miguel Esparza entered the advanced division and managed to place 44th out of 50 riders. And at 45 years old, he also gained notoriety as the oldest competitor in the advanced class.
