X Games Minneapolis 2017: Zoom Photography Contest
X Games Minneapolis: Zoom Photography Contest
Welcome to the second edition of the World of X Games Zoom photography contest. We took six of the best images from our monthly Zoom galleries, featuring the most remarkable photos from across the action sports universe, and put them to the ultimate test.
Fans have been checking out the photos below and voting for their favorite images since last week. Polls closed Saturday night. The photographer whose photo received the most votes will get $10,000 and an X Games gold medal for action sports photography.
The winner was announced during the X Games Minneapolis broadcast Sunday afternoon. Congratulations to Chris Burkard for the win.

Elijah Berle, by Anthony Acosta
"We drove to Yucaipa to check out a of couple spots at a school that we heard about and came across a giant kinked rollercoaster rail and a perfect wallride down stairs in a silky smooth hallway. Fired up after grinding the massive rail, Elijah kept the session going with this half-Cab backside wallride." -- Anthony Acosta

Panos Manaras, by Ronny Skevis
"Panos Manaras is an all-terrain rider who is always in search of creative spots to unleash his skills on. This photo was taken last summer during the 'Manaras 24/7 project.' We sailed with Panos and Sergio Layos to some Greek islands in search of untamed places to ride. This location, Sarakiniko beach on Milos Island, was one of the most original places we found. Volcanic rocks shaped by wind and waves gave the impression of being on the moon. Panos found this natural transition and did a no hands, a barspin and a tailwhip air, but with this opposite footplant he was facing straight down the edge." -- Ronny Skevis

Nicolas Müller, by Silvano Zeiter
"Nicolas Müller does a perfectly stylish stalefish on a natural hip surrounded by the ice towers of the glacier in Saas-Fee, Switzerland. We were shooting a sequence for Swiss national TV. This was actually our plan B spot. A chunk of ice the size of a house broke off at the original location we'd planned on. Still, it's a beauty." -- Silvano Zeiter

Sam Anthamatten, by Tero Repo
"Sam had a crazy idea to ski very open and violent looking glacier next to his home resort Zermatt in Switzerland. There were massive seracs and open crevasses everywhere, but Sam found his way through this labyrinth like it was nothing." -- Tero Repo

Timmy Reyes, by Chris Burkard
"Never sleep. Ever. That was the only rule we had on our trip to capture surfing under the Northern Lights in the remote West Fjords of Iceland. If there were clear skies, somebody was always standing watch.I've never been so stressed out and excited at the same time trying to document something. To see this wave roll into this secluded bay just south of the Arctic Circle, and my good friend Timmy Reyes surfing it all while under the Northern Lights, I couldn't help but holler as I clicked the shutter. A lot of cold, sleepless nights went into making that singular session come to being, but like most things, a little suffering is what makes them worthwhile. Stay tuned for the feature-length film from this trip entitled 'Under an Arctic Sky.'" -- Chris Burkard

Tom Parsons, by Chris Tedesco
"I hit the road to meet Tom Parsons at one of his favorite riding areas, Dumont Dunes. We knew the weather was working against us, being that it was 101 degrees at 9 p.m. Morning riding was our best option, which worked out perfectly because it allowed us to utilize gorgeous light on a set of dunes that we had all to ourselves. Instead of looking for big air, we went for an 'On Any Sunday' look, creating a feel-good, relatable image to anyone who has swung their leg over a motorcycle, or wanted to adventure off-road in an epic landscape." -- Chris Tedesco
