About Tate Carew

The first medal for Tate Carew, bronze in Skateboard Park at X Games Osaka 2025, has been a long time coming. Tate won the Am Park contest at XG Minneapolis 2019, then impressed as a multi-discipline 17-year-old rookie in the big leagues at X Games Chiba 2022, finishing 5th in Vert, 6th in Vert Best Trick, and 11th in Park. The San Diego local is known for his stylish 540s, fast skating, and smooth, clean style. He won the 2022 USA National Championship and won an Olympics-qualifying event in Shanghai in May 2024, before finishing 5th at the Paris Olympics. He has some high-profile supporters, too: While he was in Paris, Tony Hawk and Mark Gonzales paired to surprise him with his first signature pro model board from Hawk’s Birdhouse Skateboards brand.
