Reira Iwabuchi made history at X Games Aspen 2023 as the first woman to land a triple in snowboard competition, stomping a frontside triple underflip on her way to the Big Air gold medal. She now owns 1 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze in Big Air, and added her first slopestyle medal, bronze, at X Games Aspen 2024. She helped lead double cork progression as well as put down some of the first 1260s in women’s competition. She says she’s more interested in progression than in gold medals, and has one of the all-time great X Games money quotes: “At every other contest you remember who won. At X Games you remember who did something that had never been done before.”
