Luke Winkelmann is part of the rising generation of slopestyle rippers from the east coast. He hails from Blowing Rock, North Carolina, and though the nearby Appalachian Ski Mountain has just 365 feet of vertical, it also has three terrain parks. He’s proud to claim it as his own. He burst onto the scene in 2019 with a 4th place slopestyle finish and rookie of the year honors at the 2019 U.S. Open. He opened his 2021-2022 season with a win in the Dew Tour Copper Mountain streetstyle contest. He also has two career FIS World Cup slopestyle podiums, both from 2022.
