About Matt Berger
X Games 2021 Real Street silver medalist and 2022 Real Street Best Trick bronze medalist Matt Berger is from Kamloops, British Columbia. Better known for his video parts than his contest skating (the must-see is the 2018 etnies team video, “Album”), he says he lives and breathes street skateboarding. He had his career briefly derailed by right knee surgeries in 2015 and 2017, but has reemerged at full strength in recent years, including a win at the 2020 Canadian Nationals; he went on to represent Canada at the Tokyo Olympics. He says his strategy is the same no matter the level of competition: landing anything in skateboarding is always a personal battle, never about rivalry.
