Sara Shimizu surprised for bronze as a 15-year-old rookie at X Games Aspen 2025 in her first year of pro level competition. But with two 900s, a switch backside 720, and a picture-perfect frontside 1080 tailgrab in her best run, the result was to be expected. Watch for even more from her at XG Aspen 2026. In September 2025 she became just the third woman to land a frontside double cork 1080 in a halfpipe, at Stomping Grounds Park in Switzerland, inspired by seeing Chloe Kim and Maddie Mastro do the trick.
