Best known on social media as “Snappyboarder,” Zenja Popatov has an approach to snowboarding that is so unique that he considers snowboarding a metaphysical art that has helped him unlock understanding of himself and his place in the universe. Born in Russia, raised in Norway, educated in Sweden, and currently living and working in Finland, he’s fluent in four languages and working on his fifth. He’ll make his rookie appearance at X Games Aspen 2025 competing in Men’s Snowboard Knuckle Huck, his first visit to the United States, and says he’s most looking forward to riding with personal heroes including Marcus Kleveland and Zeb Powell.
