AT A GLANCE
The Moto X QuarterPipe High Air event features riders hitting a special quarterpipe ramp at speed in successive attempts to reach the greatest height while still landing smoothly. Think of it as a high jump without the bar, where the rider who achieves the highest height takes gold. In X Games QuarterPipe High Air, heights are measured from the top of the 18-foot quarterpipe. Thus, a rider who reaches a scored height of 56 feet is actually 74 feet above the ground. That’s equal to about 7 stories high.
