About Edouard Damestoy

Edouard “Edi” Damestoy became the first French skateboarder to win gold at X Games, in a major upset over MegaPark favorite (and host) Elliot Sloan at X Games 2022. He added a second title, X Games Japan 2023 Vert, in another major surprise (bronze medalist Jimmy Wilkins had won the 5 previous XG Vert gold), then repeated for MegaPark gold at X Games California 2023, where he also took Vert Best Trick bronze (and added another Vert Best Trick bronze at X Games Ventura 2024). Damestoy is from Bordeaux, France, the son of surfboard shaper Didier “Toy” Damestoy, and grew up surfing and skating with his father and sister Ambre-Victoire, now a pro surfer on the WSL Longboard Tour. He’s a 2-time champ at Tony Hawk’s Vert Alert and also a 2-time World Skate Vert Champion.
