Mons Røisland is modest: he says he’s never believed he has the natural talent of some of his peers, so makes up for it by being the hardest worker in the field, a technician constantly honing his craft. Seems to be working out: he earned Slopestyle bronze in his X Games debut at Aspen 2016 and, although he hasn’t won gold, he’s stacked up 8 medals total and has become one of the most consistent riders at X Games. Mons rides with the flair and precision for which the Norwegians are famous, and he also has big, technical tricks needed to compete for the podium, like his switch backside triple cork 1620. And, like the rest of the Norwegian contingent, he also has a fun-loving playful side.
