Soya Inomata has already brought two contest-first tricks to X Games: He stunned for Vert Best Trick silver at as a 14-year-old rookie at X Games Ventura 2024 with a never-been-done alley-oop varial kickflip 540 Indy, and finished 6th in Vert. He followed it up at X Games Osaka 2025 with a “Raijin” varial 540 varial stalefish in Vert Best Trick to earn bronze. 2024 was aslo a breakthrough year for the Japanese teen outside of X Games: He finished 3rd at Tampa Pro Vert in April, and 5th at Tony Hawk’s Vert Alert in June. He’s from Chigasaki, Kanagawa and is also a strong park skater: He finished 2nd at the Japan Nationals in April 2023.
