Just a few years ago, you could count the number of women landing 540s in competition on one hand; Hinano Kusaki could bring as many three different 540s to her run, or even back-to-back 540s. The X Games Ventura 2024 Skateboard Park silver and X Games Osaka 2025 bronze medalist (and three-time Japanese national champion) took 2nd in women’s skateboard park at the World Skate World Championships in Rome, Italy in October 2023, and could shake up podium predictions in 2025. Known for skating fast, taking big risks, and taking heavy slams, her friends back home at AXIS Skateboard Park in Tsukuba, Ibaraki call her “Demoness.”
