Japan’s Hina Maeda finished 4th in Women’s Skateboard Street at X Games California 2023, her best result of her first three X Games appearances. She’s been on the rise outside of X Games, too, with recent wins including The Boardr Open (June 2023) in New York City, the best trick contest at Tokyo Uprising (May 2023), and the first women’s division contest at Tampa Pro (March 2020). A powerful street skater, she’s as focused on filming as competing, and has skipped the World Skate Olympic qualification process entirely to focus on other aspects of skateboarding.
