Funa Nakayama earned a silver medal in Women’s Skateboard Street in her second X Games appearance, at X Games Chiba 2022. A two-time Olympian representing Japan, she earned a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and finished 7th at the Paris Olympics in 2024. She won the World Skate Rome, ITA event in 2022 and has been on two Street League podiums: 2nd at the 2022 Street League Super Crown in Rio de Janeiro, 3rd at Street League Lake Havasu in 2021. Outside of contests, she’s best known for the groundbreaking frontside crooked grind on the 16-stair rail at Hollywood High that landed her on the January 2023 cover of Thrasher Magazine.
