X Games Announces X Games League (XGL) Winter Founder Athletes Ahead of Winter League Debut in 2027
Chloe Kim, Eileen Gu, Jamie Anderson, Mark McMorris, Scotty James and Zeb Powell will contribute directly to league development and help shape athlete experiences

Ahead of X Games Aspen 2026 Driven by Jeep®, returning to Buttermilk in Aspen Snowmass January 23-25 for its 25th consecutive year, X Games announces six additional Founder Athletes for the X Games League (XGL): Chloe Kim, Eileen Gu, Jamie Anderson, Mark McMorris, Scotty James and Zeb Powell.
This announcement follows last summer’s unveiling of the League’s Summer Founder Athletes: legendary skateboarders Leticia Bufoni, Nyjah Huston, Ryan Sheckler and BMX innovator Ryan Williams, rounding out a roster of ten of the world’s most influential action sports athletes.
These elite athletes will play a pivotal role in guiding the X Games League as it evolves into a new era of competition that celebrates progression, athlete storytelling, and year-round fan engagement. As Winter Founder Athletes, they will provide input on competition formats, advise on athlete experience, and help shape the creative and cultural direction of the teams and league.
“We couldn’t imagine ushering in this new era of action sports with a more iconic group,” said Annie Lokesh, Head of XGL. “Welcoming them as XGL Founder Athletes underscores the mission of the X Games League: to propel action sports forward by building an athlete-first, team-powered, professional league that champions progression, fosters community, and inspires the next generation of fans around the world. Each of these men and women have advanced their sport in unforgettable ways, and their leadership will be instrumental as we launch and scale something as ambitious as the X Games League.“
