Cody Matechuk took Snow BikeCross bronze as a rookie at X Games 2017, then turned on a streak of domination as the gold medalist from 2018-2020. The money quote: “The 21-hour drive to Aspen is too far to ride for 2nd or 3rd place.” An action sports all-arounder, his resume also includes freestyle motocross performance on the Nitro Circus tour, freestyle four-wheeler performance at Calgary Stampede, snow bike films like “Uncharted” for Monster Energy, BASE jumping and skydiving, street bike racing, rodeo… he’s also a strong skateboarder and snowboarder. At X Games Aspen 2026, he’s taking on yet another sport, making his Snowmobile Freestyle (less than a month after learning to flip) and Speed & Style debut as motorsports return to X Games for the first time since 2020.
