About Cocona Hiraki
Taking silver as a 10-year-old rookie at XG Minneapolis 2019 kicked off a podium-perfection streak for Cocona Hiraki, who earned silver in her second appearance, at XG Chiba 2022 (as part of the first Japanese summer discipline podium sweep) and gold at XG Japan 2023 by nearly a 10-point margin. The streak finally ended with a 4th place finish at X Games California 2023 (and an uncharacteristic 8th place finish at X Games Ventur 2024), but she’s been on fire in other contests since, including a win at the World Skate World Championships in Rome, Italy in October 2023. Cocona has classic pool skating style, with tail slides, crail slides, and a great backside nosegrind pop-in that judges and core skaters love. She’s a 2-time Olympic silver medalist, at both the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and the Paris Olympics in 2024.
