Ventura local Curren Caples will be a crowd favorite at X Games California 2023, on his home turf and just steps from his home surf. We’ve watched him grow up at X Games, from his impressive rookie appearance (4th in Skateboard Park, XG LA 2010 at age 14) to his 2 gold and 2 silver in Skateboard Park between 2013 and 2016. Curren is just as interested in staking a claim as a legit street skater. He has yet to medal in 4 XG Skateboard Street starts, but street contest wins at Dew Tour and other events suggest he has it in him, and he’s also been filming heavy street parts in recent years.
