About Kaishu Hirano
You could say Kaishu Hirano was born to it: both of his older brothers (Eiju and Ayumu) are competitive snowboarders and skateboarders (Ayumu owns two gold, two silver in the X Games SuperPipe), and their father owned a skatepark in their hometown, Murakami, Japan when they were growing up. Kaishu made it in from the alternate list at XG Aspen 2022 and took the opportunity straight to the podium, earning bronze behind Scotty James and his brother Ayumu. He’s a big sender: at XG Aspen 2022 he was boosting airs in the 20-ft. range; at the 2022 Beijing Olympics he bumped the halfpipe high air world record up to 24 feet, 4 inches.
