Chili’s Macarena Perez is setting a high standard for Chilean female BMX athletes. She finished 2nd at both the 2019 UCI World Championships in Chengdu and the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago. She also competed in the inaugural BMX Park comp at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and finished 8th. A move to Holly Springs, North Carolina in 2023 significantly improved her riding. Her roommate is fellow XG competitor Angie Marino. Perez has been featured in several different Chilean media outlets and was part of a Disney Princess campaign in August 2022. No woman from Chili has medaled at X Games.
