About Mari Fukada
Japan’s Mari Fukada finished 4th in her X Games debut at X Games Aspen 2023, in from the alternate list, with a frontside double cork 1080 and backside double cork 1260. She’s a 2-time FIS World Cup big air winner (Copper Mountain, CO USA in December 2022; Chur, SUI in October 2024), and the 2022 Japanese national champion in big air. She’s a member of the Burton Snowboards team, and also rides for the Yamazen Snow Team in Kyoto, Japan. She’s coached by legend Yasuhiro “Yas” Sato and grew up training with his crew that includes 5-time X Games medalist Reira Iwabuchi and 3-time medalist Takeru Otsuka.
