This Norwegian was an alternate at Aspen in 2022 and 2023 but got called up in ’23 when Eileen Gu dropped. She finished 5th. She rode that momentum to the World Championships in Bakuriani, GEO, where she earned silver in big air — her best career finish. A late bloomer, she didn’t compete at X Games until age 27. If she wins gold, she’ll be the oldest Women’s Ski Big Air champ in history (28 yrs, 3 mos). The Norwegians have a history of doing well in Big Air and Slopestyle, will Eie be the next? Fellow Norwegian stars have included Birk Ruud, Oystein Braaten, Ferdinand Dahl, Johanne Killi and Tiril Sjåstad Christiansen.
