X Games Appoints Sports and Entertainment Executive Steve Rogers as Chief Operating Officer

Veteran Action Sports Executive Brings More Than 15 Years of Global Live Events, Operations and Business Experience to X Games

BOULDER, Colo. (October 6, 2026) — X Games today announced the appointment of veteran sports and entertainment executive Steve Rogers as Chief Operating Officer, adding an experienced global operator to its leadership team as the company continues the expansion of the MoonPay X Games League (XGL) and its year-round international event platform.

Rogers brings more than 15 years of experience across major global sports and entertainment properties, with an extensive background in live events, action sports, motorsports and international operations. Prior to joining X Games, Rogers served as Chief Operating Officer of World Supercross, overseeing operations for the international championship.

Before World Supercross, Rogers spent nearly a decade with action sports powerhouse Nitro Circus, where he led operations across the company’s global live touring business and helped deliver major action sports and motorsports properties around the world. His experience also includes leadership across Nitro World Games, Nitro Rallycross, Street League Skateboarding and its parent company, Thrill Sports.

“X Games is in a period of significant global growth,” said Jeremy Bloom, CEO of X Games. “We have new ownership groups, new teams launching, new sponsors joining the platform and new global markets coming online. As the business expands, we’re also building the leadership team required to operate at that scale. Steve brings deep experience across action sports, international events and complex live operations, and he will play an important role in helping us build the next era of the MoonPay X Games League around the world.”

Rogers joins X Games during a transformational period for the iconic action sports brand. The launch of the MoonPay X Games League has evolved X Games beyond standalone events into a year-round, global, team-based competition, creating season-long storylines and new opportunities for athletes, fans, host markets and commercial partners. The league debuted with its inaugural Summer Season in 2026 and will expand into winter competition in 2027.

A lawyer by training, Rogers combines legal and commercial expertise with extensive hands-on experience managing complex international sports properties and live events. His background spans strategy, operations, event delivery and business development, providing a broad perspective as X Games continues to scale its global footprint.

“I’ve spent much of my career building live events around the world, so the opportunity to return to action sports and join X Games at this moment is incredibly exciting,” said Rogers. “X Games is one of the most iconic brands in the space, and its evolution into a global league creates enormous potential for its future. I’m looking forward to working with Jeremy and the entire team to build on that momentum, deliver incredible experiences for athletes and fans, and help shape the next chapter of X Games. I’m delighted to be here.”

About MoonPay X Games League (XGL)

Launched in 2026, the MoonPay X Games League (XGL) brings an exciting new extension to the iconic X Games brand as the world’s first year-round, team-based, co-ed league in action sports. The league features eight Clubs (four summer X Games Clubs and four winter X Games Clubs) that fuse geographic identity with global athletic talent as they compete.

For the first time in X Games history, athletes compete in a structured season and team-based format, allowing for season-long storylines and deeper athlete-fan engagement across broadcast, streaming, live events, and digital platforms. This represents a fundamental shift in the world of action sports as XGL aims to build stronger global presence and regional connections for athletes, teams, fans, and sponsors. The formation of XGL greatly expands compensation opportunities for athletes beyond existing prize purses, with additional earning potential as part of the league’s team model.

The MoonPay X Games League will be broadcast on ABC, ESPN, ESPN+ and Disney+, Roku Sports Channel, X Games on YouTube and Kick.
