About Finley Melville Ives
2025 marked the breakout season for Melville Ives. The New Zealand skier announced himself on the biggest stage with a fourth-place finish as a rookie at X Games Aspen 2025, then kept the momentum rolling with a World Cup win in Calgary that February. One month later, he cemented his arrival by capturing gold at the World Championships, finishing ahead of veterans Alex Ferreira and Nick Goepper. Ives has carried that confidence straight into the 2025/26 season, opening with a World Cup victory at Secret Garden, followed by a second-place finish in Calgary and another win in Aspen in January 2026. Has a twin brother named, Cam, making XG rookie debut at Aspen 2026 in men’s SBD SuperPipe (after earning 2nd at Laax Open, January 2026).
