Also new for this event, Ski and Snowboard Knuckle Huck competitions will feature women’s disciplines for the first time. Fans can catch their favorite ski and snowboard athletes in Aspen, such as superstar Eileen Gu, the hottest young gun in women’s snowboarding Zoi Sadowski-Synnott looking to win double gold again, Knuckle Huck wizards Marcus Kleveland and Zeb Powell facing off and Alex Hall looks to show off why he is one of the most well-rounded skiers by attempting to medal in four disciplines. Chloe Kim has also been back on her snowboard and hinting at an X Games return…

X Fest, the free three-day sponsor village, will be located at the base of Buttermilk and offer limited free spectator competition viewing areas of Big Air, Knuckle Huck, and Slopestyle. X Fest will also feature sponsor activations, athlete autograph signings, concessions, and Jumbotrons for fans to watch all of the live X Games Aspen competitions.

Zoi Sadowski-Synnott

In 2023, X Games Aspen 2022 double gold medalist Zoi Sadowski-Synnott successfully defended her Slopestyle gold to open X Games Aspen. While the Kiwi was the far and away favorite in Slopestyle, her good friend (and fellow Oceanian) Tess Coady didn’t make it easy on her. Coady forced a heavy pressure situation and the gold wasn’t secured until the very last run of the competition. Sadowski-Synnott struggled with slow course conditions in her first three passes but came up huge under pressure for walk-off gold.

Mac Forehand

Looking back at Aspen 2023, Men’s Ski Big Air featured one of the most dramatic and unlikely endings in X Games history. Mac Forehand was down to his 5th and final run. He trailed Teal Harle -- who, as the first man to drop, had led literally the entire contest -- by 6 points. The only way Forehand could steal gold from Harle? Score a perfect 50. Never mind that no male skier had notched a 50 on a jump since Bobby Brown did it in 2010. More than 700 attempts had been made in Men’s Ski Big Air since then, and not a single one logged a 50. But Big Mac somehow did it with a world’s first forward left double 2160.
