MoonPay X Games League Goes Global for Inaugural Winter Season with Three Stops Across North America and Europe

Tickets are now on sale for Aspen and Calgary, with Ruka, Finland hosting the XGL Winter Season Championship, featuring the world’s best skiers and snowboarders competing for four X Games Clubs; Music headliners will perform nightly at each stop.

BOULDER, Colo. (September 14, 2026) — X Games today announced the three-stop schedule for the inaugural MoonPay X Games League (XGL) Winter Season, bringing the world’s best skiers and snowboarders to iconic winter destinations in the United States, Canada and Finland beginning in January 2027.

The historic first season will open January 29-31 at Buttermilk in Aspen, Colorado, the longtime home of X Games winter competition, before traveling north to Calgary, Alberta, Canada, February 19-21, and concluding with the championship event in Ruka, Finland, April 9-11, marking a new chapter in X Games’ international expansion and the debut of its season-long, club-based format in winter sports.

The XGL Winter Season follows the thrilling debut of the MoonPay X Games League Summer Season, which introduced a new competitive structure to action sports. Rather than competing solely for individual medals, athletes also earn points for their clubs throughout the season, creating an ongoing championship race while preserving the individual progression and creativity at the heart of X Games. The XGL Summer Season was decided by the slimmest of margins on the season’s final day, in the final event, with XC New York taking the crown over XC Tokyo by a mere 10 points.

Across all three stops, athletes will compete for four X Games Clubs – XC Golden State, XC New York, XC Park City and XC Whistler – earning points toward the season standings and the first-ever MoonPay X Games League Winter Championship.

Additionally, the XGL Winter Season will blend world-class action sports and live music, with globally renowned artists including Marshmello and ZHU in Aspen, Steve Aoki and Levity in Calgary, and Adriatique in Ruka. Nightly performances will extend the X Games experience beyond the competition, creating a festival-style atmosphere that connects athletes, fans, music and culture in each destination.

Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased at xgames.com

“The league gives every X Games result meaning beyond the individual athlete and a single weekend,” said Jeremy Bloom, CEO of X Games. “Every performance now scores points for a club, building rivalries and a championship race across the entire season. Aspen, Calgary and Ruka give us three incredible stages to bring that vision to life.”
