JD Sanchez earned his first X Games medal, Skateboard Vert silver, at X Games Osaka 2025 in his second appearance (after finishing 4th in Vert and 5th in Vert Best Trick as a rookie at X Games Chiba 2024). Then, a week later, at X Games Salt Lake City 2025 JD added two more medals to his growing collection, Vert silver and Vert Best Trick bronze. Known for blasting out of the vert ramp, and for his many variations on the “varial” vert skateboarding trick, he’s a charger and a risk-taker. Born in Hawaii and raised in the northern California city of Pleasanton, he’s a bit removed from the California vert scene centered in San Diego County, but has managed to fit right in.
