An X Games competitor since age 12 at XG Los Angeles 2012, with 16 medals from five different disciplines (Big Air, Big Air Doubles, Vert, Park, MegaPark), Tom Schaar is one of skateboarding’s great all-around talents, a bigger-the-better skater known for huge airs and a calm, casual style. His most recent medal is gold from Park and bronze from Vert at X Games Osaka 2025. His video parts, including the epic 2024 “Vert’s Not Dead” (2025) and “Airborne” (2021) have made him equally beloved outside the contest scene. He earned 3 medals in 2023 alone: Skateboard Vert silver at X Games Japan, and bronze in both Park and MegaPark at X Games California. In July 2024, he won Skateboard Vert gold at X Games Ventura, his first win in the discipline; a few weeks later Tony Hawk welcomed him to the Birdhouse Skateboards team with a signature pro deck. He earned his first Park gold at X Games Chiba 2024. In August 2024 he earned a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, representing USA.
