About BMX Park
Park is a style of BMX riding featuring a variety of obstacles such as ramps, bowls, quarterpipes and box jumps arranged in a challenging and creative layout. Riders use these obstacles to perform a variety of tricks, airs and grinds, incorporating a majority or all features into a single run. Using the contours of the course to gain speed instead of pedaling (pedaling usually detracts from scores), X Games Park riders use the obstacles for the air necessary to do huge tricks like 720s, double tailwhip combos and various inverts. Competitors are judged based on execution of maneuvers, degree of difficulty, variety, flow, originality, style and amplitude (height of airs).
